Chapter Chat Gopher

Kia ora. Recently we have started reading Little House On The Prairie for Chapter Chat. One of the Chapter Chat activities to choose from was to draw a little Gopher. The reason why we could draw a Gopher is because in the book the children encountered some Gophers and had some fun trying to catch them. Here is my drawing. It is of a little brown Gopher peeking out of a hole in the ground.

Learn, Create, Share

Kia ora. Recently it was our class open day. I was assigned the task of making a screencastify showing / explaining what "Learn, Create, Share" actually is. Come open day, I got to show my video. I felt spectacular to present my learning in front of all the people that came. Here's my video if you want to take a look at it.

Science Fair

Kia Ora.  Recently it was the Science fair. I created my own science fair and displayed it in our school with the rest of them. In my science fair project I was trying to find out if I can split an alka seltzer tablet into smaller pieces to cause it to react faster. Chapter chat Activity, Brazilian Wandering Spider Warning Poster.

Kia ora. Here is another Chapter Chat activity. This one is a WARNING poster for the words most poisonous spider; the Brazilian Wandering Spider. If you ever see one I advise you to not touch it.

Chapter Chat Map

Hi Daniel here.
As a class we are taking part in a program called "Chapter Chat". Basically how it works is that a bunch of classes all around New Zealand read a few chapters the same book every week. The book we're reading is called " The Explorer". It's about a bunch of kids that were in a plane crash in the amazon and they have to try and survive and get home. The catch is that they find a bunch of rusted, man made stuff like a sketched a map, flint, a pen knife, an old sardines can and an old tobacco packet scattered around the place and they think someone might have been there before them.

Each week have to do questions related to the book so far.  But along with questions there are also some set tasks that we have to choose from. Here is the task I did from this week. It is a map of the class but all the tables/ desks/ spaces are places from the book.

Mothers Day Card

This is a pic of the card I made for mum.

Recently is was mothers day. In class I made this card. On the inside there was a poem. The steps/ instructions  of the poem went like this.  Alliteration, 3 adjectives, what my mum calls me, a simile and 3 words of my choice.

On the Outside of the card as you can see we painted the card/ paper that we were using. After we had painted we cut out love hearts to stick on. Next we got  photos taken of us doing something. I chose blowing kisses.

When my card was finished I was proud and on Mothers Day mum was too.

Kawa of care.

This is my favourite poster that we made .

Hello, Daniel here. My class have been learning about Kawa of Care. Kawa of Care is like a treaty. Our Kawa of Care work was to make posters that had messages on them that would help us to take care of our chromebooks.

So first, we went over lots of different ways to take care of our chromebooks. Then in pairs we made posters online using canva, google docs, and other sites. My friend Giacomo (Gee- a- co- mo) and I chose to work together and worked on canva to make this poster.
