Hi, Daniel here. I have just finished my maths prove it and made this screencastify video. The video will show you an example question showing the new maths strategy that I have now learnt.

I went through all of the prove it videos that I made and this is my favourite.
The WALT for this prove it was to solve decimal addition problems by changing one number into a whole number. Hope you enjoy. 

Kawa of care.

Hello, Daniel here. My class have been learning about Kawa of Care. Kawa of Care is like a treaty. Our Kawa of Care work was to make posters that had messages on them that would help us to take care of our chromebooks.

So first, we went over lots of different ways to take care of our chromebooks. Then in pairs we made posters online using canva, google docs, and other sites. My friend Giacomo (Gee- a- co- mo) and I chose to work together and worked on canva to make this poster. 

How I Plan My Week

Hi, Daniel here. In this post I will tell you about the weekly time table my class has been using and how it works. Hope you enjoy.

Our weekly timetable is a way of making my whole classes learning a lot easier and faster. The way it works is that on late Sunday afternoon a google form gets sent out to every student in my class via email containing what workshops you will go to during the week. When you see a workshop appropriate for you, that you want to go to, you click on it. E.g: level 3 Maths M.R Smith, Tuesday 12:30-1:00 PM  : When you have finished the entire form with at least 1 math STRATEGY, 1 math KNOWLEDGE, 2 reading and 2 writing workshops, you submit the form and the teachers will see your response. Then you add all of that info from the form into your weekly timetable, plus a bunch of other tasks you have to do during the week. By the time you have finished your timetable it will look something just like this.

This is my screenshot of my Weekly Timetable.

As you can see the timetable has 1/2 hour time slots so every half hour the teacher will ring a bell signaling a rotation onto your next planned activity, according to your timetable. As we have around 60 students using weekly timetables, using google sheets works well. Everyone has a column to themself to fill in with activities, but every day you have to have Morning Tea, Lunch, Typing lessons, Shared book and fitness/PE all at set times. Which are the grey/ yellow frozen time slots.

Time tables are easy to use and save time because you don't have to waste time coming to the floor checking in with the teacher, because what you need to do is right there on your your time table.
The worst thing about weekly timetables is that they take awhile to fill in, but I would still recommend them because there are more pros than cons.
