Cherub Acronym

A couple weeks ago I did a chapter chat activity on The Recruit. I'm doing The Recruit as my chapter chat this term because I'm on holiday and I'm not able to get my hands on a copy of the book my class is reading. Luckly the year 7&8 chapter chat book was The Recruit and my brother just happened to have taken it on holiday with him. So I am doing The recruit as my chapter chat book this term. The Recruit is a part of the series CHERUB. But in the series it never says what CHERUB actually stands for. In this activity I had to do an acronym for CHERUB. Here is a screenshot of my work. By the way, it took alot of reaserch to get this acronym.

Here is an explanation of this acronym.
Charles Henderson is the founder of the orgonisation CHERUB. Henderson Boys is another series which is set before cherub was created.  At the end of the book Eagle Day (which is part of the Henderson Boys series) you find out that charles henderson is starting somthing called Espionage Reasearch Unit B. Therefore CHERUB stands for Charles Hendersons Espionage Reaserch Unit B

WK8 Vivid Vocabulary

This week as I arrived at school I received a shocking surprise. There was more chapter chat activities!
On Tuesday I started doing what will hopefully be the last vocab activity. This time my favorite word was Scutter. I like the word scutter because I have a guinea pig and I lot of the time she scutters around. (It looks really cute. ) Here is my vocabulary slide.

Vivid Vocab

Last week was the final week of chapter chat. I completed another chapter chat vocab activity. My favorite word this time was muffler. I liked the word muffler because when I bike to school I get really cold ears and nose. So now I know what to look out for in the clothing section. Anyway, Here is my vocabulary slide.

Close up Indian portrait

Hi. This is my Chapter Chat activity. It is an Indian. I got to draw an Indian because in the little house on the prairie book the family encounter an Indian. My favorite thing about my Indian is his feathered headband. In my picture my Indian has red bits on the feathers. I put red on the feathers because with the red on the feathers it makes the picture pop! Also it makes the picture more interesting.
Here is my Indian picture.

Chapter Chat Vocab

Kia ora. This post is about my chapter chat activity this week. This one is about my vocabulary. What you have to do for this activity is find the meaning of  the chosen words and present them in your own words on a slide. All the words are related to the class shared book that we are all reading,
"THE LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE". Some of the words are a bit old fashioned due to how old the book is. Anyway, here is my slide.

Here is my vocab for this week. I have updated this post to show This weeks vocab.

Chapter Chat Gopher

Kia ora. Recently we have started reading Little House On The Prairie for Chapter Chat. One of the Chapter Chat activities to choose from was to draw a little Gopher. The reason why we could draw a Gopher is because in the book the children encountered some Gophers and had some fun trying to catch them. Here is my drawing. It is of a little brown Gopher peeking out of a hole in the ground.

Chapter Chat Map

Hi Daniel here.
As a class we are taking part in a program called "Chapter Chat". Basically how it works is that a bunch of classes all around New Zealand read a few chapters the same book every week. The book we're reading is called " The Explorer". It's about a bunch of kids that were in a plane crash in the amazon and they have to try and survive and get home. The catch is that they find a bunch of rusted, man made stuff like a sketched a map, flint, a pen knife, an old sardines can and an old tobacco packet scattered around the place and they think someone might have been there before them.

Each week have to do questions related to the book so far.  But along with questions there are also some set tasks that we have to choose from. Here is the task I did from this week. It is a map of the class but all the tables/ desks/ spaces are places from the book.
